19Th Century Persian Shamshir Sword Being fofered is an interesting 19th century persian shamshir sword. It measures 36 1/2 when measured in a straight line from tip of blade to pommel. Teh hilt comprises of horn slab grips secured to the tang via multiple rivets on each side. The pommel, crossguard and tang band are of steel.
The blade is forged of woostz steel, of a very unusual pattern, which shows up as long, coarse grains of pattern most prominent in the middle of the blade. The grains of pattern fade away at the forte of the blade and also towards the tip.
There are a couple of minor forging flaws ni the blade. All in all, an interesting shamshir. Please e-mail with any questions. Winning bidder to pay insured shipping/handling. Please view my other auctions for a great variety of sword and dagger.
